Materials: 0.6mm Aluminium Sheet
Fold Table explores how to turn thin floppy sheet material, such as 0.6mm Aluminium sheet, into a structural forms. The piece uses a concept of 'structural folding', where each fold creates a rigid shape capable of carrying weight. Initial testing and prototyping was done using Rhino and a CNC card cutter.⠀
Experiments in paper led to the development of a folded component that formed a circular flower form when combined together. The component was then scaled up using the CNC and thin Aluminium sheet.
